The first episode was only last week. There will be a second one tonight.

It was surprisingly good, and it's a nice change to see Tahiti. Most of the scenery shots they show are from Moorea, though. Moorea at sunset, below; it's just a stone's throw from Tahiti.

Image

Only Lee and Kate are repeat crew members.

The new chef is hippy-dippy:

http://www.bravotv.com/people/adrian-martin

There is a male stew on board!

http://www.bravotv.com/people/josiah-carter

Shout out to Malestew on this board!

The first primary guest was an asshole from a prior season. For some reason *, they let him drive drunk on a jet ski. And while I'm not really concerned for the safety of such a fucker, he could do damage to the coral reef. The video of him driving the jet ski is really good, though. I don't know how they captured it.

* Incompetence or stupidity, pick em.

episode 2: foam party of one

Rhylee, who said she does a lot of heavy lifting, asked the male deck hands to get her gear when she boarded the ship in Episode 1.

The Below Deck crew were unable to do a picnic on the beach. This, from our Paul Gauguin cruise, is how you do it in Polynesia:

Chef Adrian is great, though.

Tip: $15000 ($1150 each). Captain Lee is responsible for that math.

I'm enjoying this season - that young chef seems to have things sorted
We prefer Kate over Hannah as Chief Stew

Captain Lee is certainly one ornery critter!

episode 3: i'm also a boat captain

Post: # 2040Post drib »

I'm the administrator of this board. You don't have to like me, but you have to respect me. That said, there's a bit too much discussion about Rhylee in this episode.

First course: "Here we have a panko breaded avocado, over a black bean cake, with a wasabi aioli, and radish carpaccio."

Entree: "Do you guys like veal?" "What is veal, it's like a dead baby lamb? *" "So if no one requested veal and we are getting veal, that means we're screwed. None of us are getting what we like for dinner." "I just don't eat any baby animals." ... "This ** is really good." "Oh my gosh. Delicious." "Everything we've put in our mouth on since we got on this boat has been great." ***

Dessert: "I get seasick all the time fishing, but I just ralph and rally."

Epilogue: Becky, if you don't post on this thread by episode 4, there will be a little extra something in your tip envelope.

======

* No, it's not lamb.

** Dead baby animal.

*** That's what she said.

A baby lamb - now there's an oxymoron

Just "sourcing" this episode and look forward to enjoying the exploits of our dynamic crew - the guest can't be any crazier than Bubbles last week - where do they get these whack jobs?

OK - just watched it and I agree - too much of a fixation on slamming Rhylee - sure she has an attitude but how is it the Yarpie isn't in trouble for his behaviour - or the about to go crazy Stew getting some of the heat. At least Rhylee knows some of the skills and gets in and does her share of the cleaning etc

Oh well we had less of Captain Lees pearls of wisdom this week

But Kate knows her stuff - there's no comparison between her and Hannah - Kate runs rings around her

I’m so excited to FINALLY get in here. I didn’t know about the new domain name until tonight. Now if I can just figure out how to make my (drib created) avatar drawing larger. Really loving the season so far.

Becky, I added an avatar for you. You can replace it with whatever you like, though.

Bodog, will your January 2020 cruise be your first time in French Polynesia? I highly recommend renting a car on Moorea and circling the island once or twice.

In my cable program guide, it says the title for episode 4 is "Bitch in Charge" !

Yes this will be our first time there and we have an overnight there as well as it’s a back to back - so a drive sounds like fun

Well with a title like that I think it’s got to be Kate - was it her with the “resting bitch face” in an earlier series?

I wasn't paying close attention tonight, but I did observe this ...

Dish soap:

imgn

Tip: 22k ($1,820 each)

I didn't notice anyone particularly bitchy taking charge. In fact, if anything Kate's been the exact opposite of bitchy.

episode 6: get better or go home

Post: # 2096Post drib »

Captain Lee wrote:How does a boat this size end up with not one swinging dick on board?
I guess that's why I like the 750 to 1250 passenger ships the best. There are always some swinging dicks on board, but not so many that they all get in the way.
Kate wrote:I'm a fan of the dead starfish but this is next level.
That was in reference to the primary having sex on the crow's nest ... at least there was a 90% chance that is what was happening. There's also a 90% chance that the "dead starfish" reference was not about a sea animal.

Tip: $15,000 total; $1,250 each. (12 shares, even. Note that in episode 2, the 15k split was $1,150 each.)

episode 7: new kids on the dock

Post: # 2103Post drib »

Attention crew. Attention crew. I need everyone in their whites and on the aft deck ASAP.

Deck hand to-do list:
  • spot light on tender / hose /
  • top off fresh water intrepid
  • full detail intrepid / top off water
  • rig hose to fresh water
  • swim step / oxi/simple + step 2
  • awl-care ... hot tub
  • prep lockers . re-org
  • set up black pump hose
  • spot clean cushins
  • bridge aft teak (k2r on oil round table)
  • trash in bosuns?
  • stock under sink - b.c. /magic erasers / hand sammis / teak shammy
  • bosuns locker (r2r, green shammys)
  • restock cooler bags
  • restock deck fridges
  • take out trash
  • find bins for life jackets on bridge aft (storage unit)
  • trash bags in trash room
Preference sheet meeting:
  • four day charter for ten people two of them children
  • Albert & Torrey Jasuwan, a power couple living in St Pete Florida
  • They have two adorable children: Tiernan (5) and Pearson (4) [Kate: who likes both sparkling and still water!]
  • She seems rather picky if you look at her [Kate: face]. She wants seafood platter, crab bisque sashimi
  • Carrie Simon - she's gluten free and low carb
  • Somebody else is allergic to ginger
  • [Dakota Williams] no kale, no Brussels spouts
  • [Sherri Williams] allergic to seafood and shellfish [Adrian: it's like a Japanese jigsaw puzzle]
  • And their child has a severe peanut allergy
Adrian's creativity was stifled, and he fell off his pedestal - a two out of ten. (Where's the beef cheeks guy when you need him?)

I watched until I heard Captain Lee say "I'm going to eat somebody's ass for dinner."

And then I threw up.

Those guests were idiots - and arrogant - the females in particular and the kids weren't - I think the Primary was probably ok but under the pump from the others to make sure things went well
Of course the dopey deck crew didn't help - too busy stabbing each other in the back...
