november 2021 updates

Post: # 3205Post drib »

Early returns, just Oceania, and just status updates.

trips w/insert: 0, total inserts: 0, total sql: 171, errors: 0
start time:7:38:48 am end time:9:06:18 am

======

Crystal:

trips w/insert: 10, total inserts: 17, total sql: 137, errors: 0
start time:7:37:10 am end time:10:24:08 am

The 17 fare changes on only 10 trips means that these are fares that were previously unavailable, but are now available. (That's because Crystal does not show the fare for an unavailable category.

======

Regent:

trips w/insert: 0, total inserts: 0, total sql: 171, errors: 0
start time:7:39:16 am end time:10:56:32 am

======

I'll do a re-run for Crystal at the end of the week when the book-now savings promotion is said to expire.

Crystal:
trips w/insert: 28, total inserts: 191, total sql: 268, errors: 0
start time:9:12:03 am end time:12:42:15 pm

There were six trips on Serenity that had fare increases, and five on Symphony, for a B1. (Fares up from $100 to $200, roughly) That doesn't add up to 28, but if you look at the lower fares, for example an E2 on Symphony, there are 11 of those trips alone. So not many of the increases were across the board for all fares.

Oceania:
trips w/insert: 0, total inserts: 0, total sql: 103, errors: 0
start time:9:33:42 am end time:10:57:33 am

These trips not found:

Regent:
trips w/insert: 0, total inserts: 0. total sql: 117. errors: 0
start time:9:34:01 am end time:5:30:48 pm

new crystal web pages

Post: # 3222Post drib »

These are a problem for me. It looks like they load the base page, and then fill in the suite and fare data asynchronously. I'll have to do some rearch if I get around that.

One thing I can do is return to their legacy file. But that is notoriously unreliable.

If I can't figure it out by December 1, I'll probably just inactivate Crystal from Roll Call and Fare Compare. It's not likely that I would book Crystal, I was just keeping it because it was no extra work really, and I still see a lot of people who use those pages for Crystal.

crystal update update

Post: # 3224Post drib »

My host for Big Dog Foto said they would try to install a PHP module that I think I can use to continue doing updates.

If that doesn't happen, though, then I'll start using the legacy file instead. But I didn't want to leave inaccurate data out there, so I change Crystal to inactive in my database.

oceania update

Post: # 3225Post drib »

trips w/insert: 16, total inserts: 176, total sql: 377, errors: 0.

Looks like some new deals on Marina and Riviera, modest decreases, probably temporary for a holiday sale.

crystal update from the legacy file

Post: # 3226Post drib »

trips w/insert: 67, total inserts: 289, total sql: 293, errors: 10.

One good thing about the legacy file is that I can pick up fares that the web site would show as unavailable.

One bad thing about the legacy file is that I can't tell which fares are unavailable.

I'll post what I found today, although those will mostly be the fill-in fares that are unavailable. Still waiting for my host company to install a product called Goutte so maybe I can go back to the old way of doing things.
