cote d'azur

Post: # 837Post drib »

Our cruise started from Monte Carlo, but we've already been there and done that. So we stayed pre-cruise in Nice instead. This was a great choice because Nice is wonderful - easy to walk around, with fantastic stores and restaurants.

Since we had to get to Monte Carlo anyway, it made a lot of sense to just take a half-day tour, which was a reasoanable bit more in cost than a simple transfer from Nice to Monte Carlo. So we hired Exclusive Riviera Tours, and were picked up by Michel Touitou, who was an excellent tour guide.

He drove us to St-Paul-De-Vence in the mountains, and then to a view point for Cap-Ferrat, pictured above, and then to Eze before dropping us off at the port. It was a little annoying in Eze that he started us at a tour of a perfume factory, but I think this is standard practice there. We otherwise walked Eze on our own because there is nowhere to park there and Michel had to drive around waiting for us. But that all worked out too.
